When Is Madrid Orgullo This Year?
The 2019 edition of Madrid Orgullo takes place between June 28th and July 7th, offering nine whole days of open-air concerts, outdoor parties and revelry, sport and the very best culture Spain has to offer. The festival takes place in the heart of Madrid’s most popular and diverse gay neighbourhood Chueca. Always a vibrant and energetic district in the capital, the area simply bursts to life during Orgullo LGBT and the Pride Parade that the event culminates with, is a gay celebration that is quite simply a joy to behold.
What Can You Look Forward To at Madrid Orgullo?
As we have mentioned, Orgulla has everything you would expect for a gay pride event in one of Europe’s busiest and most popular capital cities and much more. The LGBT scene in Madrid is one of the biggest on the continent and this event most certainly does it justice.
This years’ Madrid Pride is also the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York, which famously saw the gay community stand up for its rights when civil rights were being pushed to their absolute limits. Who knows where the LGBT scene in Madrid and indeed, across the world, would be today without this momentous event and it is set to be honoured in typically Spanish style at the 2019 Madrid Orgullo.
